Peer reviewers can accept or decline invitations to serve on review teams or panels in Canopy.

Receiving an Invitation

When a peer reviewer is invited to participate on a team or panel, they will receive an email from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with details about the assignment. A notification about the invitation will also be displayed in Canopy.

To receive invitation emails from Canopy, please be sure to keep your contact information up to date in your Peer Reviewer Profile. Also, please add This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to the safe senders list in your email client.

Responding to an Invitation

1. On the Peer Review Dashboard, scroll down to the Institutional Reviews section (below the My Tasks section). This section displays your five most recent invitations.

   

2. To see details of an invitation, hover over or click on the title. A pop-up box will appear that shows the type of evaluation, the role you would serve on the team or panel, the institution being reviewed, the start date of the evaluation and visit (if applicable), and other information.

   

3. To respond to an invitation, click the checkmark or X icon to the right of the invitation title. Pending invitations display both icons with white backgrounds.

   

   1. To accept an invitation, click the checkmark icon. A window will appear asking you to confirm that you have no conflicts of interest with the assignment. If this is true, check the box next to “I confirm that” and then click “Accept.” (If you do have a conflict of interest, click “Cancel” and decline the invitation.)

      

   2. To decline an invitation, click the X icon. A window will appear asking you to confirm your response. Click “OK” to decline the invitation, or “Cancel” to close the window and not submit a response.
      
      Note: If you decline due to a schedule conflict, please update your schedule availability in your Peer Reviewer Profile. 4. After you confirm your response, the background of the selected icon will change to purple. At this point, you will not be able to change your response in Canopy.
