Navigating to the Assurance Filing
After logging into Canopy, users can navigate to the Assurance Filing section in different ways depending on which roles they have in the system:
- Assurance Filing Contributors who do not have another HLC role at their institution and are not HLC peer reviewers will be taken directly to the Assurance Filings landing page after they log in.
- Contributors who have another institutional or peer reviewer role in Canopy can access any Assurance Filings they are assigned to by selecting the “Assurance Filing Contributor” role after logging in.

- Accreditation Liaison Officers and Chief Executive Officers may access Assurance Filings from the institution dashboard and the main menu.
- On the dashboard, click “Assurance Filings” in the Quick Links box.
- In the main menu, click “Institution” and then select “Assurance Filings.”

Assurance Filings Landing Page
The Assurance Filings landing page will list each Assurance Filing that you have access to as a contributor. The following details for each filing will be displayed:
- Filing status
- Institution name and HLC ID number
- The institution’s HLC pathway
- The names and links to email the Primary Filing Coordinator, Team Chair (if assigned) and HLC staff liaison
- Lock date
To open an Assurance Filing, click the “Filing” link to the right of the lock date.

Navigating Within the Assurance Filing
When you open an Assurance Filing, you will be taken to the Assurance Argument page of the filing. Navigate to other sections of the filing, including the Evidence File or Contributors sections, using the left side menu.
