Submit a Comment
HLC invites faculty, staff, students members of the public and other stakeholders to submit comments regarding HLC member institutions and institutions that are seeking HLC membership. This feedback enriches our review process and helps us better understand the role these colleges and universities play in their communities and how this might relate to the institution’s ability to meet HLC requirements.
About HLC’s Comment Process

Complaints: An individual with a complaint about an institution’s ability to meet HLC’s requirements should see HLC’s complaint process. HLC cannot intervene in disputes between institutions and individuals, whether faculty, students or others. Complaints will not be considered as part of HLC’s comment process.
When Comments Are Considered
Comments are considered by peer reviewers evaluating institutions during comprehensive evaluations. HLC forwards comments we have received to peer reviewers and the institution being evaluated four weeks prior to the date the comprehensive evaluation visit is scheduled to begin.
Find the date of an institution’s comprehensive evaluation visit in the institution’s listing in HLC’s Directory of Institutions or the schedule of upcoming campus visits.
Note: HLC cannot guarantee that comments received less than four weeks before an institution’s visit date will be forwarded to the team and institution in time for consideration during the evaluation. Such comments may not be provided until the institution’s next comprehensive evaluation.
