HLC Programs and Events
Elective Programs
The HLC Annual Conference is a 5-day event that takes place in Chicago in the spring. The conference provides opportunities for administrators, faculty and staff of HLC member institutions, along with members of the HLC Peer Corps, to learn information and promising practices from fellow practitioners and the HLC staff. Attendees also engage with featured speakers who are leading thinkers, researchers and advocates in the field of higher education.
HLC’s Academies and Workshops support institutional improvement and professional development in the areas of assessment of student learning and student success and institutional strategy and planning. The Academies are multi-year, structured programs that focus on cultivating strategies for institutional improvement. The Workshops are one- or two-day, hands-on learning opportunities for individual professionals and teams of colleagues. Both programs provide guidance from expert practitioners, evidence-based strategies, and opportunities to network and share learning with institutions from across the HLC region.
The Standard Pathway Seminars are one-day, in-person seminars on addressing improvement in the Assurance Argument. Institutions on the Standard Pathway that are preparing for a comprehensive evaluation are invited to register.
