November 2025 Actions

HLC’s Board of Trustees, Institutional Actions Council (IAC) and staff take actions on institutional evaluations, requests from institutions for approval of substantive changes, and other aspects of the accreditation relationship.

HLC posts all institutional actions within 30 days after the action is taken. Actions taken during November 2025 are published below and/or on the institution’s Statement of Accreditation Status in the HLC Directory of Institutions.

Board Actions, November 6 Staff Actions

Board of Trustees

The Higher Learning Commission’s Board of Trustees took the following actions on November 6, 2025.

Colorado

Nazarene Bible College, Placed on Probation.
The institution was notified of this action on November 11, 2025. Information was posted for the public on November 12, 2025.

Florida

The College of the Florida Keys, Granted initial accreditation.

Florida SouthWestern State College, Granted initial accreditation.

University of Central Florida, Granted initial accreditation.

Illinois

Morton College, Removed from Notice with monitoring.

Indiana

American College of Education, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein ACE PB LLC, the superordinate entity of the institution, executes an Agreement and Plan of Merger with Bain Capital Double Impact L.P., by and through related intermediaries, resulting in Bain Capital becoming the ultimate holder of 75% of the ownership interest in ACE PB LLC, with five current ACE PB LLC unit holders to retain a collective 25% ultimate ownership interest in ACE PB LLC as set forth in the Agreement and Plan of Merger.

University of Saint Francis, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein University of Saint Francis acquires, through an Asset Purchase Agreement, Leffler Academy, with Leffler Academy ceasing to be an independent institution and to be operated as an additional location of University of Saint Francis.

Iowa

Morningside University and St. Luke’s College, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein Morningside University, through an Asset Purchase and Sale Agreement, acquires St. Luke’s College, with the intent of ultimately merging and consolidating St. Luke’s College within its structure.

Minnesota

Leech Lake Tribal College, Placed on Notice.
The institution was notified of this action on November 11, 2025. Information was posted for the public on November 12, 2025.

Nebraska

University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska Medical Center, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska Medical Center undergo a consolidation of the two institutions into a single HLC-accredited institution.

Ohio

Wittenberg University, Placed on Probation.
The institution was notified of this action on November 11, 2025. Information was posted for the public on November 12, 2025.

Zane State College, Continued accreditation with monitoring.
