HLC’s Board of Trustees, Institutional Actions Council (IAC) and staff take actions on institutional evaluations, requests from institutions for approval of substantive changes, and other aspects of the accreditation relationship.

HLC posts all institutional actions within 30 days after the action is taken. Actions taken during December 2025 are published below and/or on the institution’s Statement of Accreditation Status in the HLC Directory of Institutions.

Institutional Actions Council

The Higher Learning Commission’s Institutional Actions Council took the following actions on December 1, 2025.

West Virginia

Reaffirmation of Accreditation

Appalachian Bible College, Mt. Hope, WV

  • Continued and reaffirmed the institution’s accreditation.

Future Generations University, Franklin, WV

  • Continued and reaffirmed the institution’s accreditation.

Board of Trustees

The Higher Learning Commission’s Board of Trustees took the following actions on December 5, 2025.

Indiana

American College of Education, Reaffirmed the Board’s November 2025 approval of the continuation of accreditation of American College of Education related to the application for Change of Control, Structure of Organization wherein ACE PB LLC, the superordinate entity of the Institution, executes an Agreement and Plan of Merger with Bain Capital Double Impact L.P., by and through related intermediaries, resulting in Bain Capital becoming the ultimate holder of 75% of the ownership interest in ACE PB LLC, with five current ACE PB LLC unit holders to retain a collective 25% ultimate ownership interest in ACE PB LLC as set forth in the Agreement and Plan of Merger.

Iowa

Morningside University and St. Luke’s College, Reaffirmed the Board’s November 2025 approval of the continuation of accreditation of Morningside University and St. Luke’s College related to the application for Change of Control, Structure of Organization wherein Morningside University, through an Asset Purchase and Sale Agreement, acquires St. Luke’s College, with the intent of ultimately merging and consolidating St. Luke’s College within its structure.
