| Historical note: | The institution voluntarily resigned status with HLC, effective May 23, 2022, and became a branch campus for Minnesota North College. * Note on date of accreditation: First accredited as Ely State Junior College in 1966 name changed to Vermilion State Junior College and then to Vermilion Community College in 1982, accreditation was transferred to Arrowhead Community Colleges, a configuration of five separately accredited institutions in 1997, the Arrowhead Community College Region was reconfigured into five separately accredited institutions with Laurentian Community and Technical College District becoming a combination of Vermilion Community College and Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in 2001, authorization for separate accreditation was sought for Vermilion Community College and Mesabi Range Community and Technical College (at Virginia and Eveleth, MN). |
