In collaboration with member institutions, HLC regularly updates our policies to ensure they continue to support quality assurance and institutional improvement in our rapidly changing higher ed environment.
Comment on Proposed Policy Changes
HLC’s Board of Trustees will consider the following proposed changes for adoption at its meeting on June 25–26, 2026. Submit your feedback about the proposals by May 15, 2026, to [email protected].
- Presidential Authority
The proposed policy changes would expand certain aspects of the scope of the HLC president’s authority to take actions related to an institution’s relationship with HLC, specifically as related to special monitoring and Administrative Probation. - Voluntary Resignation
The proposed changes would clarify certain aspects of the requirements and process regarding voluntary resignation of membership with HLC.
