Did You Know? Students Reach Out to HLC

Students are a main stakeholder in accreditation activities, such as being invited by their institution to participate during an upcoming campus visit or sharing opinions in HLC’s student opinion survey.

HLC also receives comments and complaints, which are evaluated through policy-defined processes.

HLC receives anywhere from 10–15 inquiries each week from students and parents regarding our member institutions. Recently, HLC has been the recipient of mass-email campaigns regarding member institutions. In such cases, HLC is one of many recipients of the campaign emails, which are also sent to contacts at the institution and related government and regulatory agencies. Please note: Information sent via a mass-email campaign is not treated like a comment or complaint. HLC does not respond when the email is not directed to HLC. When the email is directed to HLC, we refer the individuals who contact us to our comment and complaint processes.

HLC prides itself on engaging with students and works to provide them with useful information about higher education and accreditation in resources such as the Student Guide and How Accreditation Works For You.
