December 2023 Actions

HLC’s Board of Trustees, Institutional Actions Council (IAC) and staff take actions on institutional evaluations, requests from institutions for approval of substantive changes, and other aspects of the accreditation relationship.

HLC posts all institutional actions within 30 days after the action is taken. Actions taken during December 2023 are published below and/or on the institution’s Statement of Accreditation Status in the HLC Directory of Institutions.

Institutional Actions Council

The Higher Learning Commission’s Institutional Actions Council took the following action on December 4, 2023.

Oklahoma

Bacone College, Muskogee, OK

  • Approved the institution’s Teach-Out Agreements with the following universities, in connection with the Provisional Plan approved in October 2023:
    • Mid-America Christian University
    • Ottawa University
    • Southern Nazarene University

Board of Trustees

The Higher Learning Commission’s Board of Trustees took the following actions on December 6, 2023.

Missouri

Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein Mercy Health East Communities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercy Health, becomes the sole corporate member of SoutheastHEALTH System, Inc., resulting in Mercy Health becoming the superordinate entity of Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

New Mexico

Southeast New Mexico College, Approved the continuation of accreditation related to the application for Change of Control, Structure or Organization wherein Southeast New Mexico College separates from New Mexico State University in accordance with New Mexico state law and subsequently continues to operate as an independent institution.
