Crosswalk Between 2013 Criteria and 2020 Criteria

In February 2019, HLC‘s Board of Trustees adopted revisions to the Criteria for Accreditation that went into effect on September 1, 2020. The revisions include some reorganization of the Criteria‘s Core Components. The charts below map these changes between the previous and revised Criteria. Broadly, the reorganized Core Components include the following:

  • Core Component 1.B. is merged into Core Component 1.A.
  • Core Component 1.D. is renumbered as Core Component 1.B.
  • Concepts from Core Component 3.E. are added to Core Component 2.B.
  • Core Component 5.A. is renumbered as Core Component 5.B., and Core Component 5.B. is renumbered as Core Component 5.A.
  • Core Component 5.D. is merged into Core Component 5.C.
