Know Before You Go: 2022 HLC Annual Conference
As HLC prepares to return to Chicago for its 2022 Annual Conference, both in-person and virtual attendees are preparing as well by using their email address and passcode to log in to the conference platform and create individual user profiles, view the full conference program and build their personal schedules in advance.
About the Schedule
On-Demand Sessions
Viewing the conference program, registered attendees will notice a few sessions indicated as “on-demand.” These are sessions that have been well-attended at past conferences and will be made available shortly before the conference for on-demand access. Many on-demand sessions include a corresponding in-person Q&A session scheduled at a specific time slot during the conference. During these corresponding Q&As, those who have already viewed the on-demand session are invited ask questions.
Presentation Types, Conference Tracks and More
All HLC presentations – presentations on accreditation-related topics and processes delivered by HLC staff – will be indicated within the conference program book, platform and mobile app. All institutional and viewpoint presentations will follow one of four color-coded conference tracks:
- Commitment to Quality
- Innovation and Leadership
- Living Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Teaching, Learning and Student Success in a Changing Environment
Use the tracks to guide your experience of these presentation types, or narrow down sessions of interest by topic using the Browse by Keyword feature within the conference platform and in the mobile app.
Look out for a special "Academies" sticker within the schedule indicating presentations related to HLC's Academies! You'll also notice presentations marked with a sticker that reads "HLC 101." HLC staff have identified these presentations as potentially beneficial to conference newcomers or to those new to accreditation with HLC, in general.
Creating Your Personal Schedule
Wondering how to add a session to your personal schedule? Just click or tap the star icon next to the session title! To remove a session from your personal schedule, click or tap it again. Find all the sessions you’ve added to your schedule by selecting “My Schedule” from the platform homepage or in the upper right-hand corner.
Automatic Transfer to the Mobile App
In-person attendees will receive access credentials and instructions for logging in to the mobile app prior to the conference. The personal schedule you have built within the conference platform will conveniently transfer over to the mobile app once you log in!
Connection Hubs
The conference Connection Hubs are attendee lounges featuring charging stations, soft seating, sponsored coffee breaks and dedicated spaces for attendees to network and watch on-demand content. There are two Connection Hubs located within the Hyatt – one in each tower. The Connection Hub located in Grand Hall will also feature a bookstore with relevant titles.
Concluding HLC’s 125th Anniversary Celebration
The 2022 Annual Conference will mark the closing of HLC’s 125th Anniversary celebration. In honor of the anniversary, HLC will be providing each conference attendee with a water bottle commemorating HLC’s anniversary.
Virtual Attendance
Those attending the conference online should expect access to the full suite of virtual sessions on April 2, 2022. Any technological issues can be resolved through the conference support booth, which will be live on the conference platform during the dates of the event. Virtual sessions will be available for 60 days after the conference end date.
