Know Before You Go: 2021 HLC Annual Conference
As HLC prepares to host its first virtual annual conference, registered attendees are preparing as well by using their email address and passcode to log in and create individual user profiles, view the full conference program, and build their personal schedules in advance.
Viewing the conference program, registered attendees will notice a few sessions indicated as “on-demand.” These are sessions that have been well-attended at past conferences and can now be viewed at any time throughout the conference and afterward. Each on-demand session includes a corresponding live follow-up Q&A session scheduled at a specific time slot during the conference. During follow-up Q&As, those who’ve already reviewed the on-demand session are invited ask questions of presenters.
Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with speakers and colleagues through the live chat function. During a presentation, attendees may input questions into the chat feature. Presenters will review and respond to questions during and after presentations.
HLC is also pleased to include networking opportunities indicated as “Conversation Starters.” These are open discussions on current topics that are facilitated by stakeholders in higher education. To find and attend these discussions, simply sort General Program sessions by presentation type, and select “Conversation Starter” or use the search function.
Be sure to hit the yellow star icon on any session to add it to your personal schedule.
If at any time, attendees encounter technological issues or otherwise require assistance, there is a “Help” link on the left navigation menu. From there, attendees will be able to indicate if their inquiry is technology-related or involves conference registration or resources.
HLC staff are looking forward to seeing institutional representatives and peer corps members at the virtual event. For more information about the annual conference, visit the conference platform or register now.
