Program Assessment Virtual Workshop
Four Modules, February 14-22, 2023
Registration closes soon! This virtual workshop provides an opportunity for individuals to further their understanding of practical and meaningful assessment of student learning in academic programs. Through lecture, discussion and structured activities, participants will gain the practical knowledge and skills to lead the development and implementation of a program assessment plan in their academic discipline. Registration is open now through January 23.
Optimizing Cocurricular Assessment Webinar Series
March 2, 3 and 9, 2023
This series of webinars will facilitate participant understanding of the value of cocurricular assessment. They will provide opportunities to learn about other institutions’ approaches and experiences. Offered as an a la carte series, attendees will be able to choose which webinars and topics are most useful to them and their institution’s cocurricular assessment context. Content in this series is intended for beginning and mid-level assessment practitioners and institutional leaders who are tasked with coordinating assessment and the integration of cocurricular assessment into overall assessment efforts and planning at their institution. New! Collaborating on Quality Virtual Workshop
April 13-14, 2023
This new team-based virtual workshop aims to support an institution’s preparations for an upcoming comprehensive evaluation. The workshop will assist teams in developing a plan for making the best use of the 18 months to two years of preparation time ahead of their scheduled comprehensive evaluation. Demonstrating Quality: an Assurance Argument Virtual Workshop
April 27, 2023
To help institutions craft the Assurance Argument, institutions with an Assurance Review scheduled from January – August 2024 as part of a Year Four or Year 10 evaluation are invited to participate in this interactive workshop. The workshop will include a presentation from an HLC staff member and an experienced peer reviewer on strategies for developing and refining an Assurance Argument as well as one-on-one feedback sessions on submitted excerpts of a draft Assurance Argument. This workshop was first hosted in November 2022 and is an expansion on HLC’s Assurance Clinics. Sign up to be notified when registration opens.
Facilitating Learning: Leading Campus-Wide Assessment
This year-long program in assessment leadership provides an opportunity for those charged with campus-wide assessment responsibilities to develop skills specific to leading, guiding, and re-energizing assessment activities on their campus. Participants will reflect on their strengths in assessment and leadership, as well as audit their institution’s current assessment practices. Participants will plan how to facilitate student learning assessment at their institutions while also developing professionally as assessment leaders. The program kicks off with an in-person workshop in May 2023, followed by virtual activities throughout the 2023-24 academic year, culminating in a final meeting at the 2024 HLC Annual Conference. Advancing Strategy Workshop
May 24-25, 2023 | Tempe, AZ
A collaborative strategic planning process can create systematic and continuous quality improvement. This team workshop brings together cross-functional groups of administrators to learn process and tools for effective strategic planning in higher education.
